Hamburg Cruise Center II
Hamburg Cruise Center II
The site is located near the “Fischmarkt” in Hamburg-Altona, between the former England Ferry Terminal and the emblematic “Dockland” building.
The sculptural character of the building is evoked by a metallic, sharp-edged, light-silver body. The windows are printed with green stripes that serve as sun protectors. The terminal facade opens and closes with the needs of the functions inside and the view relations to the outside. Broad stairs lead from the western entrance area to a public “farewell deck“ or “fifth facade“, on which the cruise ships are welcomed or bid as farewell by the citizens.
