RCG HOUSE

Remodeling a property is always a challenge, especially as it enhances the architect acquiring a greater sensibility on the built space also a clear and specific position up to the space to propose.
Every house have a motivation, not necessarily as a derivation of a premeditated project, but as a sum of achievements and accidents which configure look.
Particular necessities from users that are inhabiting by the years, specific building requirements, family enlargement, etc, are some of the factors that made a house a map of life itself.
Architect`s skills and capacity within, recognizes accommodation’s inspiration in order to modify it or keep it potentiating.
Basically, this is a one level project divided in two areas, the public and the private space. Public area has a two vehicle garage, dining room, kitchen, bathroom which also serves the guest room, all of them facing the lateral patio that illuminate and vent all spaces.
Upstairs it is found the service area, which has a laundry room and patio; a guest room with bathroom, and free roof for a further roof garden project.
This latter is the case of the house. In its actual state, it was hermetically refused to face the street, looking towards the interior, allowing life’s house developed around a patio. Being its principal characteristic and space attribute, it still remains, although conquering the space in a deeper way now.
Throughout the house various courtyards remain around the habitable spaces providing vast illumination, thus during the day is no more necessary using artificial light, whereas at night a corrugated sheet reflects the light illuminating all over the patio.
In this patio a tree is planted; a Feijoa guayaba tree serves as a view from the lounge, dining room and master bedroom, welcoming from the house entry.
A weightless stair is created leading us to the roof before long roof garden accompanied by all house services.
The materials are simple but absolute, with fine points giving warmth to spaces. Polished concrete floors, white walls, and parota carpentry are complemented with the illumination emphasizing certain areas into the house at night.
A residence that highlights space’s attributes, sometimes lost in ornaments and overload stuff, encloses towards the street, making the interiors spaces a light game allowing us the clearness of recognizing in nature the way of life’s elements.
