Presentation of the career and professional structure Dra. Arq. Karla Fentanes Gutiérrez Zamora www.kfsustentabilidad.com Born in Chiapas, the poorest isolated state of México within adverse environment, marked by social inequalities and machismo, but fortunately gifted by exceptional strength and huge heard formed myself acting with a big sense of intuition and clarity. Emigrated from my city to study Architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana of México City more than 1,000 km from home, with a scholarship, when the Zapatismo* has started. Six years later, I obtained another scholarship from the Mexican government, to obtain a doctorate in Sustainability at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña in Barcelona, graduated on 2004 with an excellent cum laude. After 10 years working in housing and urbanism in Spain, I returned to Chiapas with an extremely deteriorated social and also economic reality. Those circumstances motivated me deeply to be a part of the change toward a better future for my people, especially women who still confronted in very disadvantaged situations. Being the daughter in a traditionally family run construction business breaking the classical roll and my responsibility as a women Architect confronted myself the need to demonstrate dairy my professional capacity. My mission is implementing a new city model replacing the dispersed toward the compact one, accessible housing for all, social community and local public life. My other objectives are formation and education in order being able to refer to a high quality network, designing emblematic projects with high sustainable performance for private companies and governmental institutions. Firstly, always looking to achieve the highest international standards, secondly, beat harsh reality full of corruption, abuse of power and opportunism. The heritage value of Mexican people and the privileged environment is the biggest plus I can work with.
